Guy Fieri explained his plans for his estimable fortune to Fox News, and things aren’t looking great for his kids. According to the Food Network host and Flavortown auteur, he’s following in his father’s footsteps and not leaving his children a single cent of inheritance.

"I've told them the same thing my dad told me,” Fieri explained. “My dad says, 'When I die, you can expect that I'm going to die broke, and you're going to be paying for the funeral.'"

Fieri went on, explaining that his empire was his and his alone. " I told my boys, none of this that we've been…that I've been building are you going to get unless you come and take it from me," he revealed.

The chef has spoken before about how he expects his children to excel in school and carve their own path rather than leech off the Fieri name. He shares two sons, Ryder and Hunter, with wife Lori. Fieri also raised his nephew, Jules, after the death of his sister in 2011. While Jules and Hunter seem to have no problem with Fieri’s vision of their future, Ryder apparently does.

"My youngest son, Ryder, is a senior in high school getting ready to graduate, or you know, going to graduate in the spring,” Fieri said. “And he's like, ‘Dad this is so unfair. I haven’t even gone to college yet, and you're already pushing that I've got to get an MBA? Can I just get through college?'"

Fieri continued: "Shaq said it best. Shaq said it about his kids one time. He says, ‘If you want any of this cheese, you’ve got to give me two degrees.' Well, my two degrees mean, you know, postgraduate. So they're on their way."
