Killens Pond State Park

One of the state's many beautiful parks,Killens Pond State Parkin Felton, southern Delaware, offers year-round camping, boating and a nature center for outdoor family fun. Spend your vacation hiking, swimming and fishing. Summer visitors can also enjoy the Killens Pond Water Park.

The Delaware Art Museum

There's something for everyone at theDelaware Art Museum, including the younger set. Howard Pyle's illustrations will entrance kids with its pirate and mermaid imagery. Visit the colorful American Art Gallery and take a stroll through the sculpture garden. On Sundays from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., kids 3 through 12 can create their own artwork with the Sunday Studio Series -- just $5, no reservations required.

Brandywine Zoo

Tucked away near the shore of the Brandywine River just off of I-95, theBrandywine Zoois small enough to enjoy with younger children without tiring them out. There's even enough exotic animals and birds to keep older kids (and adults) engaged. Highlights include river otters, Andean condors and Siberian tigers.
