'GTA 6' Could Be Released as Soon as Next Year

Gaming publisher Take-Two Interactive might have just hinted at the forthcoming release of the next entry in its most lucrative franchise: Grand Theft Auto 6. As pointed out by IGN, the company's new earnings report projects that it will generate a massive $8 billion USD in net bookings during the fiscal year 2025 (beginning Apri 2024) thanks to the launch of "several groundbreaking titles."

The figure marks a significant increase from the publisher's fiscal year 2023, which saw the company accumulate $5.3 billion USD, and it's more than double the $3.5 billion USD reported in the year prior. An increase of this size would only be possible with major acquisitions, a massive slate of new games or the release of one mammoth title, which very well could be Grand Theft Auto 6.

"For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success," Take-Two wrote in its earnings report.

"In Fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to achieve over $8 billion in Net Bookings and over $1 billion in Adjusted Unrestricted Operating Cash Flow," the company continued. "We expect to sustain this momentum by delivering even higher levels of operating results in Fiscal 2026 and beyond."

GTA 6, which Rockstar officially announced in February of last year, will drive huge sales for Take-Two, if GTA 5, which drew more than $1 billion USD in the first 24 hours of its release, is any indicator. Take-Two declined to confirm or deny the theory.
