How This Group Of Blind Skaters Are Coming Together Within The Adaptive Skate Community (Video)

I think it's safe to say adaptive skaters are some of the most determined and talented humans involved in skateboarding. All skaters have that little extra by all means necessary spark inside of them, but these skaters are dealing with different road blocks entirely.

Dan Mancia, Nick Mullins, Anthony Ferraro, Coco Atama and Justin Bishop are just a small handful of the individuals who are constantly progressing adaptive skating, and were recently featured on CBS Sports' We Need To Talk.

"We're unique because we share a bond with our blindness that is just as unique to us and the challenges we face," says Dan Mancina. "And we can learn a lot from each other."

Dan, like the many other visually impaired skaters riding this epic wave, are really making a huge difference in not just the adaptive skating world, but in the entire skateboarding world—and in all honesty, there's no need to separate them. These dudes are skaters, one million percent, and they're inspiring countless people across the globe simply by believing in themselves and doing what they love.

"I was so eccstatic knowing that I have this group of people that make me feel whole," says Nick Mullins. "I don't feel alone and there's just so many things we can do together. It's like family."

The impact and growth of adaptive skating isn’t just about skating, it’s about family and continuing to build this epic community. Together, these skaters are doing things most people would think impossible, and they're reminding us that there are no limits to what we can achieve (on and off the board).
