Grocery Store Joe is Bringing His Goods to 'Dancing With the Stars'

You know how the saying goes: When life closes a door, it opens a window. Or, in our beloved Grocery Store Joe's case, sometimes life closes a door, then opens a window, then closes that window, opens the window back up, and another window on top of that. Which is a convoluted way of saying that after getting dumped by Becca Kufrin, joining Bachelor in Paradise, getting dumped by Kendall Long, then getting back together with Kendall, Joe is joining this season of Dancing with the Stars.

Joe Amabile, better known for probably the rest of his life as Grocery Store Joe because of his former job as a produce stocker, very quickly won America's collective heart for being something rarely seen on reality TV: totally himself. He was let go on the first episode of Becca's season of the Bachelorette, but his brief airtime was enough to land him an impressive fanbase and a spot on Bachelor in Paradise.

Real Grocery Store Joe heads know how Paradise went down for him. He pursued a tumultuous but very lovely relationship with Kendall, which ended tearfully on the penultimate episode Monday night. But Joe, ever the comeback kid, announced on Tuesday night's finale that he and Kendall are back together.

In subsequent, even more surprising news, it was also announced that Joe will be joining this season's cast of Dancing with the Stars. Typically, the only people from Bachelor Nation who do DWTS are the former Bachelors and Bachelorettes themselves. Joe-who is unfortunately NOT the next Bachelor-is only the second person from the franchise after Melissa Rycroft to join DWTS.

It's a somewhat confusing decision–this is a dude who everyone loves because he seems so down to earth, and unwilling to join the Diff Eyewear gravy train (no shade implied). But, whatever the rationale for bringing Joe to DWTS, it means two great things for America: an opportunity to see Joe kick his legs around in some sparkly pants, and a potential future in which Joe is never not on our TV screens.
