It’s hard to believe that Grimes and Elon Musk’s son, X Æ A-XII, has existed on planet Earth for nearly seven months now, amirite? To show fans that bb X Æ A-XII is thriving in his early childhood, Grimes took to her Instagram Stories to share the cutest pic of him doing what he does best—being a cute baby, duh.
In the snap, X Æ A-XII is casually flipping through a kid-appropriate book about the Hubble Space Telescope…which is fitting since his dad is the majority owner of a NASA-certified private spaceflight company.
Grimes having X Æ A-XII enjoy a book about space telescopes is pretty on brand. Back in October, she told the New York Times that most “stuff for babies is really just creatively bad” and that she didn’t want her baby’s “first introduction to the world to just be all this aimless crap.” In the interview, Grimes also claimed that babies “do have taste. They definitely like some things. They don’t like other things. They fully have opinions.” So, uh…I guess telescopes are just X Æ A-XII’s vibe, then!
Other things Grimes’s son is into these days? Two-and-a-half-hour war dramas that are definitely not rated G, apparently. “I’ve watched Apocalypse Now and stuff with my baby,” Grimes added. “He’s into radical art. Like, he just actually is, and I don’t think it’s problematic to engage with them on that level.”
