It feels like we’ve been waiting forever for the new Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gossling, and Will Ferrel to arrive in theaters. We have just under two more weeks to go. The film hits the big screen on July 21, but Cold Stone Creamery’s new Barbie shake is already here. Made from the ice cream shop’s new Barbie-inspired ice cream flavor Pink Cotton Candy, we’re seeing it all over social media.

Cold Stone makes its shakes with premium ice cream, and guests can personalize the Barbie Shake by adding mix-ins. Those who want a Barbie-pink shake can order it with just the pink cotton-candy flavored ice cream, or add any available mix-in they want, including those that create Cold Stone’s Barbie signature creation: graham cracker pie crust, dance party sprinkles, and whipped topping.

Pink-themed drinks and snacks seem to be ready to dominate the second half of summer. DIY perfectly pink recipes are popular right now. And Cold Stone’s pink shake is replacing a certain purple shake as social media’s go-to milkshake trend.

This Barbie-Shake Trend Just Ousted the Grimace-Shake Trend

Trends come and go quickly, and after McDonald’s few weeks in the social media spotlight with the special purple, berry-flavored Grimace birthday shake, the spotlight (or should we say pink Corvette headlight) is shining on a new fictional character, Barbie. Cold Stone Creamery’s Barbie shake is now what’s hot.

The milkshake has gone viral on TikTok, not for its flavor, but for its (obviously fake) transformative powers. Guys are taking one sip of the pink drink which causes them to suddenly spin around. When they face the front again, they’re wearing what has become known as Barbiecore, Barbie-inspired fashions in hot pink and other pastel colors associated with the movie.

When @catinatorgg first takes a sip, he is wearing a t-shirt, khaki shorts, and Nikes, but once he spins around, he’s all dolled up in a hot pink dress, blonde wig, and no shoes (perhaps a nod to the Barbie character in the upcoming movie whose identity crisis includes her famously always-ready-for-high-heels feet going flat?). There are a whole slew of fun and silly TikToks that follow suit.

Whether you want a Cold Stone Barbie Shake simply to drink or to create a trendy video, don’t hesitate. This Barbie-themed summer treat will only be at Cold Stone until August 8.
