Griffin Johnson's New Song Totally Seems Like It's About Dixie D'Amelio and You Have to Hear the Lyrics

From Seventeen

TikTok is slowly taking over the music scene and Griffin Johnson just became yet another TikTok star to drop a song. Unlike his friends, though, Griffin's new song, "Convenient," which was released on Sunday, seems to be directed at one person in particular. The song seemingly addresses his breakup from Dixie D'Amelio and the lyrics are very revealing.

As a reminder, Griffin and Dixie broke up in July after Griffin was accused of cheating on Dixie. Since then, Dixie has been connected to Griffin's fellow Sway House member, Noah Beck, though they have both denied that they are dating. Well, apparently Griffin isn't too pleased about how everything has gone down, and he has decided to express himself through music. So, let's dive into the lyrics from Genius.

[Chorus]
I'm not here to say I'm sorry
I'm not even gonna ask
You're the one that didn't want me
But I ain't tryna win you back

The song seems to be about Dixie considering the timing (they broke up only a few weeks ago), the reference to cheating (the alleged reason they broke up), and a later reference to Noah Beck (Dixie's rumored new bae). While the details of their breakup were kept on the down low, from what we saw on social media, it seems like Dixie was the one to initiate it after learning about the cheating rumors.

About two weeks after the break up, Griffin tweeted that he was posting an apology video. It turns out, though, that the video was a joke and simply about a bet he made with Bryce Hall.

Two weeks after that, though, Griffin finally did apologize in a statement on Twitter. "Most importantly I want to publicly apologize to Dixie for the hurt that I have caused," he wrote. "I am human, I am not proud of some of my choices, but I will keep it real with everyone that follows me. I have dealt with a lot of this in an immature manner because honestly I had no idea what to do. I'm not asking for forgiveness, I just want to cut the bullshit and let everyone understand my thoughts and know I'm sorry."

Now, though, Griffin is seemingly saying he's done apologizing.

She said I cheated
That's just fucked up
But you believed it
Ain't that convenient?

Here's where things get complicated. Following the news of their breakup, Dixie commented on a TikTok where a girl named Madison Galley shared alleged screenshots of Griffin hitting on her online.

It's also important to remember that back in July, Chase Hudson accused Griffin of cheating on Dixie. When they did finally break up, Thomas Petrou commented on the situation, saying "Guess Chase wasn't lying."

In Bryce Hall's recent video, though, Griffin denied cheating, explaining that he did Snapchat a girl, asking her for pictures of her toes. "All I said was 'send toes,'" he explained. "I say that all the time...It started on Twitter as a joke."

It seems like now, in the song, Griffin is claiming that whatever it is he did do, he doesn't think he should have been labeled as a cheater.

[Verse 1]
She took it out of context
Now my heart's in the comments
Now you can say I'm heartless
But you don't know what a heart is
You don't think I No-ah
But I know a little bit
Yeah I'mma fucking glow up
Why you rollin' with a git?

Yup, Griffin just completely name checked Dixie's rumored new guy, Noah Beck. Ever since Griffin and Dixie broke up, she has been spending a ton of time with Noah and they even shared a kiss in Dixie's music video for the "Be Happy" remix. Despite that, though, both Noah and Dixie have denied that they are dating, with Noah saying they only kissed for the music video.

Whatever is going on between them, Griffin clearly isn't happy about it. He even referred to Noah as a git. Now, I will admit, I had to Google what a git is and, according to Merriam Webster, it's a "foolish or worthless" person. Way harsh, Griffin.

You text when I'm even writing this song
Like you know the difference between right and wrong
Told me congrats for hitting a million
But if I'm being honest
I just want you gone

So, apparently, despite breaking up, Dixie and Griffin still talk, but Griffin seems over it.

[Chorus]
I'm not herе to say I'm sorry (Nah)
I'm not even gonna ask
You're thе one that didn't want me (Nah)
But I ain't tryna win you back
She said I cheated
And that's just fucked up
But you believed it
Ain't that convenient?

[Verse 2]
You hung all the dirty laundry
Out for everyone to see
Hundred milly know the story
But they don't know the history
If only they could read between all the lines
If only their eyes saw what I see in mine
You say you love me but you turn and went ghost
You said you're just friends but you're wearing his clothes

It seems like even Griffin doesn't believe that Noah and Dixie are "just friends."

[Chorus]
I'm not here to say I'm sorry (Nah)
I'm not even gonna ask
You're the one that didn't want me (Nah)
But I ain't tryna win you back
She said I cheated
And that's just fucked up
But you believed it
Ain't that convenient?

[Bridge]
