Grieving Mother Says She Got An Incredible Sign From Son in Heaven — And She Captured a Photo!

For the last 20 years Woman's World magazine has featured the weekly "My Guardian Angel" column, where real women share first-person accounts of their amazing encounters with Angels. Now, we are sharing those heartwarming stories of loving comfort, Heaven-sent helpers and miraculous rescues online with the mission of continuing to spread hope and light.

Here, Woman's World reader Carol Kauffman shares the miraculous signs she received from her late son, Kyle, that helped her through the heartbreaking loss — and the incredible photos she took of her comforting message from above.

Carol's Guardian Angel story told in her own words:

"My son, Kyle, passed away suddenly in May 2020, right at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. I was in such a state of shock. I barely remember those first months. We couldn’t hold a funeral, nor could we have friends come into our home, as we were all sheltering-in-place.

"We set up an altar in the front window of our home with the flowers we received, and while people called us and stood at the end of our driveway, six-feet away to chat, we didn’t get those much needed hugs that people take for granted after a loved one passes.

"Shortly after Kyle passed, I fell into a meditation on the living room couch. In my meditation, I could see a large red balloon outside our window. I’d read that if you see an everyday object in a meditation, you will see that object in your real world within a week or so and that it is a sign that your loved ones are close by.

"When I awakened from my meditation, I thought to myself: Well, I doubt I’ll see a red balloon. We are sequestering, and we have no red balloons in the house!

"I got up off the couch when I heard my husband bringing things in from the garage. He’d begun cleaning out our son’s apartment. Kyle had been a gifted artist, and my husband was bringing in his paintings and setting them against the wall.

"I watched as he brought in the third painting. Then, I gasped as I saw it. My son had painted a blue sky with clouds and a red balloon! I hadn’t thought about that painting in ages! But there it was.

The comforting signs kept coming

"When we were able to have our grandsons over again, we would frequently play in the basement. One day, we blew up a package of balloons of all colors. Eventually, all the balloons deflated, except the red one, which stayed round and plump for a much longer time! It also seemed to gravitate and float towards the boys whenever they were playing.

"A couple years later, when we were babysitting our grand boys at their house, I blew up another package of balloons of all different colors. At bedtime, I had the boys take all the balloons upstairs to their playroom before they lay down for the night.

"The next morning, I awakened before the boys, and went into the kitchen to make coffee. There, in the dog’s bed, right next to the dog, was a red balloon. I fixed my coffee, and sat down. Something brushed my leg. I looked down. Another red balloon! One had gravitated toward the dog, who Kyle adored, and the other one to me!

"To this day I have no idea how those red balloons — just the red ones — were able to stay inflated and follow us around. It was as though Kyle were saying: 'Whenever you see red balloons, think of blue skies — and me!''"

An Angel expert weighs in…

“Carol's experience following her son Kyle's passing is a moving example of how signs from the spirit world can bring comfort in times of grief. After Kyle's sudden death in May 2020, Carol was in a deep state of shock, compounded by the inability to hold a traditional funeral or receive in-person support," says Sunny Dawn Johnson, a global authority on the angelic realm, with a portfolio of 22 books, including popular titles such as Invoking the Archangels, The Love Never Ends, and 365 Days of Angel Prayers.

"During this time, Carol had a profound meditation experience where she saw a red balloon, a symbol she later understood was a sign from her beloved son. She would unexpectedly see a red balloon at seemingly random times over the next couple of years. A painting of Kyle’s, depicting a serene blue sky with clouds and a red balloon, seemed like a direct message from him. The significance of the red balloon deepened when, during playtime with her grandsons, a red balloon outlasted the others and seemed to move around them purposefully," Sunny says. "The most important moment came at her grandsons' house, where she found a red balloon next to the family dog that Kyle loved so much, and another red balloon near her. These occurrences, particularly the balloons' mysterious longevity and placement, are the way that Kyle could reach out to let his mom know he was with her and every time she sees a red balloon, she is reminded of his love."
