‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Fans Are Very Confused About Teddy’s Storyline Right Now
On last night’s Grey’s Anatomy, audiences watched Teddy Altman frantically search for the family heirloom engagement ring Owen gave her, only to discover their son, Leo, had swallowed it. While it might seem like a minor plotline in a story with so many moving parts, Grey’s fans took it as a sign of a much bigger probably. It got people on Reddit thinking, what the hell happened to the old Teddy?
Fans first met Teddy during season 6—she was the badass cardio surgeon who had served in a literal war and was absolutely fearless. Ten seasons later, they’re wondering what happened to that person.
“Why are they pretending like Teddy is some dumb girl who needs Owen to solve her problems?” one Reddit user asked. Great point! Another agreed, saying, “That’s exactly what I said to my husband: I miss badass cardio rock star surgeon Teddy.” The problem, it seems, can be traced to the fact that she’s with Owen now. People hate Owen. Therefore, people hate Teddy for being with Owen. Fans even have their own theories about that whole “missing ring” thing, and they’re hilarious.

Sure, Teddy has been a somewhat sticky character since the beginning because she was essentially used as a plot device to break up Owen and Cristina, but like, how did it come to this?!

As the season continues, it’ll be interesting to see how the drama with Amelia, Owen, Link, and Teddy unfolds, considering it’s totally possible Amelia’s baby might be Owen’s. Nothing throws a wrench in an already fragile relationship like having a baby with your ex!
