'Grey’s Anatomy' Star Camilla Luddington Posts Cryptic Instagram After Alex's Controversial Exit
Following the controversial exit of Alex Karev last week, Grey's Anatomy star Camilla Luddington recently took to Instagram to share a photo of herself reading a future script for the show.
In response to a fan's comment on the post about her character, Camilla teased what was to come for Jo Karev in the rest of season 16.
The post and comment came days before the star announced her second pregnancy on Instagram, leaving fans wondering about the fate of her character on Grey's.
Grey's Anatomy fans might still be reeling from Alex Karev's departure from the show last week, but it looks like actress Camilla Luddington is already thinking about the rest of the season — and is teasing what's next for her character, Dr. Jo Karev.
The Grey's actress, who plays Alex's wife on the ABC medical drama, recently took to Instagram to post a photo on Saturday, sharing a snapshot of herself sitting by a pool while she held a script for the show in her hands. "Reading 'Dear Jo...' like..." she captioned the photo, giving a nod to Alex's goodbye letter in last week's episode.

The star's post came a few days after Grey's aired its official farewell episode for Alex following Justin Chambers' sudden exit in January. In the controversial episode, Alex was revealed to have reunited with his ex-wife and former love interest Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) after finding out that the two children Izzie currently had were his own (yes, really). Much to the outrage of many fans of the show, this also meant that Alex was leaving his current wife Jo Karev ... Cue the divorce papers enclosed in his heartbreaking letter to Jo.
Of course, Grey's fans then took the opportunity to share with Camilla in the comments about their many thoughts on the episode and her character — with plenty of them expressing their interest in what the show now has in store for Jo after Alex's departure. "I love that we still have Jo can’t wait to see whats next for her," one fan wrote.
Camilla then responded to the fan's comment, making sure to tease the scripts for the rest of the season. "Omg me too!" she wrote back. "The scripts for Jo this season are 😮😮! JUST. WAIT.”
Okay, wait, so does that mean good things or bad things to come for Jo? Unsurprisingly, Grey's fans were sent into a guessing frenzy over Jo's fate on the show in response to Camilla's cryptic Instagram post and comment — especially as the actress posted another shocking Instagram post announcing her pregnancy a few days later!
"Okay so ... Matt and I are so happy to fiiiiinally post after months of 'hiding' that I am pregnant!," she wrote in an Instagram post on Monday, referencing her husband and Castle Rock actor Matthew Alan, whom she wed in August 2019 and had her first child with in 2017. Camilla's post featured a photo of her cradling her baby bump — all while standing next to Cinderella at Disneyland. "We are beyond excited to add to our little family and give Hayden a sibling," she then added.

Of course, the news of Camilla's pregnancy also raises a lot of questions for fans of Grey's Anatomy, especially in light of the star's teasing comments about the future of Jo on the show. Mainly, many fans seem to be wondering the same thing: Will Camilla's pregnancy be hidden while filming the rest of Grey's, or will it be written into the show?
Some viewers seem to think the latter, with many of them hypothesizing that Jo will find out she's pregnant in the show as well. "I'm going to guess Jo is going to be pregnant!" one fan commented.
"I really hope they give her a glorious ending to this season," another follower wrote. "Why do I have a sneaking suspicion she finds out she is pregnant too?"
Regardless, many fans seem to be excited to see what Grey's Anatomy has in store for Camilla's character after her mysterious Instagram post and comment, with many of them calling for a good ending for Jo after what they're calling an undeserved abandonment by Alex in the last episode.
As for whether what's to come for Jo includes a pregnancy, well, we'll just have to keep watching the rest of season 16 to find out!
