Grey's Anatomy fans, you may want to check into Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital for this news. The season 19 premiere is just around the corner (October 6, to be exact) and as always, the medical drama has something new up its sleeves. After this many years on TV, it makes sense they'd need to change things once in a while.
It looks like there's a potential new development for season 19 and it may come in the form of actress Kim Raver who plays Dr. Teddy Altman. In an interview with People for her new film Suitcase Killer: The Melanie McGuire Story, the actress opened up about what the upcoming new episodes will entail. Her answer? Well, it was nothing if not a bit mysterious.
"Season 19 is going to be insane," she told the outlet. "It's like the bomb exploding and what is the fallout going to be? What show can pull off 19 years?"
We absolutely agree with Kim on that aspect of Grey's Anatomy. Fans may recall that the last time they saw the eight-season fan favorite, she was busy fleeing with her husband Dr. Owen Hunt (Kevin KcKidd) and two kids on a first-class flight to an unknown location. At the time, viewers had just learned of Owen giving pills to military veterans for illegal medical purposes and there was no clue whether either character would be seen onscreen ever again.
But if the writers of the Ellen Pompeo-led series know what they're doing, there's a good chance we'll see Teddy and Owen make some sort of return to Grey Sloan Memorial. Viewers already saw Addison (Kate Walsh), Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Sarah Drew) make brief appearances last season — who's to say we won't get our fill of Teddy and Owen once more?
Like us, it looks like Kim is also on the Teddy/Owen bandwagon as well. "I mean, look, I hope that's not the way we're ending it," she continued to tell the magazine about where the couple stands on the ABC drama. "There is still a lot to be told with these two ... But you never know. You have to keep everyone sort of wanting to tune in at the end of September. I just think there are still stories to be told."
So will we get the chance to see Kim return to our TV screens later this fall? If she has her way, it's a possibility. In the meantime, though, we need to learn a bit more about what to expect for season 19. While we're at it, maybe we should get a refresh on season 6 of the show's spinoff, Station 19, too.
