Greenbelt Police Department holding first Wellness Walk

GREENBELT, Md. (DC News Now) — The Greenbelt Police Department (GPD) invited the community to join in for its first Wellness Walk in June.

GPD said that the walk is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. on June 1 at Buddy Attick Park in Greenbelt.

The event celebrates Mental Health Awareness Month, which falls in May — the walk was originally scheduled for May 18 but was rescheduled due to the weather.

The department said that the walk will help raise awareness on the topic and provide support for community members.

GPD said that walkers and runners should start arriving by 8:30 a.m. Any vendors should arrive by 8 a.m.
