Warning: The following post contains spoilers for Game of Thrones season 8 episode 5. If you don't want to know what happens, turn back!

After Sunday night's doozy of an episode, the fan theory that posits Arya Stark will kill Daenerys Targaryen is looking more and more plausible. Why, you ask? Because with Cersei Lannister (almost definitely?) dead, there's only one person left with green eyes for Arya to kill, per Melisandre's prophecy: the Mother of Dragons.

Wait, what's the deal with green eyes on Game of Thrones?

Arya, our friendly neighborhood assassin, has always been destined to kill somebody with green eyes. Remember the prediction Melisandre made in season 3, and then repeated in season 8?

"You said we'd meet again,” Arya tells the now-deceased Red Priestess during the Battle of Winterfell. “You said I’d shut many eyes forever. You were right about that, too.”

"Brown eyes, green eyes-and blue eyes," Melisandre says.

The brown eyes likely applied to Walder Frey, and the blue eyes belonged to the Night King. For ages, fans assumed "green eyes" meant Cersei Lannister, but after episode 4-"The Last of the Starks"-some viewers weren't so sure anymore. In that episode, Arya made it clear to Jon that she didn't want Dany on the Iron Throne. And sure enough, a shot in the final moments served as a reminder that our Khaleesi has green eyes, too:

Does that mean Arya will kill Dany on the Game of Thrones finale?

It seems like a distinct possibility, now that Cersei is (again, ALMOST DEFINITELY?) out of the picture.

The ending of episode 5 certainly pointed in that direction. On Sunday night, we saw Dany "dracarys" all of King's Landing to ash, killing hordes of innocent people-including a mother and child Arya tried to save. The episode ends with Arya finding their burnt corpses, then climbing onto a white horse and riding off to...well, I can't say for certain, but beloved characters who ride off on white horses usually have something noble to do.

Like kill a Mad Queen who just destroyed a whole city in her thirst for power.
