Great Pyrenees Finds Nest of Baby Bunnies and Insists on 'Adopting' Them

Animals, regardless of species, possess certain instinctual behaviors that drive them to care for and protect their young. These behaviors can sometimes extend beyond their own species and manifest as caring tendencies towards other animals in need. We've seen proof of this with video of dogs nursing kittens or dogs and cows showing affection towards one another so the following video doesn't surprise us one bit.

The Great Pyrenees that belongs to TikTok user @Rationalcashew recently discovered a nest of baby bunnies in the yard and he is the most concerned surrogate dad to the bunnies ever!

How sweet is this pup? He's so worried about the bunnies! TikTok users adore this dog and @Jenny says, "His DNA says I must protect." Another user adds, "Great Pyrenees HAVE to guard all things in need." Another user hilariously replies, "Because his name is not on the birth certificate does not mean he isn’t their dad?"

The creator posted another video and said: "I know, but he’s weirdly protective of them in the same way he is other small animals and small children. It’s strange but cute." Awwww.

@Cold replies, "The absolute best dog breed to be a bunny parent!!!! Guardian with a big heart!!!" So true! @Lorraine says, "He's their daddy for life!" The creator also responded, "He really is! When he found them, he just laid by them for like an hour. He has to keep checking on them like every 20 mins to make sure they’re okay."

He's such a sweet doggo! We hope he isn't too heartbroken when these bunnies leave the nest to go make their bunny way in the world!
