There are perfectly good celebrity style moments, and then there are the looks that really stick with you, the ones you try desperately to recreate at home. In 'Great Outfits in Fashion History,' Fashionista editors are revisiting their all-time favorite lewks.

Even before she was "how-to girl" Andie Anderson in "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," Kate Hudson knew how to turn out an effortless look. The then-20-year-old actress was just breaking onto the scene right at the end of the 1990s, and was already showing her sense of style — the one that would turn her into one of the Y2K greats.

At the 1999 MTV Movie Awards, Hudson walked the red carpet in an easy, all-white two-piece set with lace details — ideal for summer. I may be a low-rise hater, but even I must admit that the actor's maxi skirt has aged tremendously. It wouldn't be out of place on a Hadid in 2023.

Whether you're headed to the ocean or to torment Matthew McConaughey, shop our picks for the perfect Hudson-inspired summer outfit below.
