For the Met Gala's 2012 "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations" theme, then-rising star Emma Stone wore a look by neither of the designers being honored. Instead, the "Easy A" actor climbed the storied steps in a mini dress from Lanvin by Alber Elbaz that evoked an aesthetic representing a happy medium of the two highlighted houses.

The bright red satin style featured a corseted top and pannier-style skirt that created an all-around voluminous shape. It was covered entirely in embroidered crystal flowers which gave the look a broken glass-like illusion look. Though the craftsmanship is undeniably beautiful, it's certainly curious how Stone sat comfortably throughout the evening.

For her glam, the then-24-year-old went with a tousled updo with custom Lanvin crystal hair pins. She kept her makeup to a minimum, wearing black winged liner and a wash of faded red over the lips. Turquoise nail polish and black pumps completed the outfit.
