Great Outfits in Fashion History: Catherine Zeta-Jones' Y2K Emanuel Ungaro Pastel Slip

Despite Catherine Zeta-Jones' penchant for wearing black and "vampy" makeup throughout the '90s (ironically foreshadowing her role as Morticia Addams in the 2022 Netflix series "Wednesday"), her style noticeably started to shift near the end of the decade, with dresses in brighter colors, interesting patterns and more eye-catching textures.

Zeta-Jones introduced this new-to-her style era at the 1999 MTV Movie Awards in a pastel pink Emanuel Ungaro slip dress complete with dainty lace paneling at the bustier and sides of the lingerie-inspired number. Accessories-wise, the actor kept it equally vibrant with a robin-egg-blue sequined Fendi Baguette bag and strappy silver heels.
