An all-new season of The Great British Baking Show is underway, but viewers have questions about Matt Lucas' choice of costume possibly taking inspiration from Sandi Toksvig.

On September 13, the day the show premiered in the U.K., the host shared a photo of himself alongside his Great British Baking Show co-stars dressed up in Star Wars-inspired costumes in honor of the new season. In the Instagram photo, Matt was featured as Luke Piewalker (a.k.a. a form of Luke Skywalker), co-host Noel Fielding as Princess Layer Cake (or Princess Leia), judge Paul Hollywood as Darth Baker (a version of Darth Vader) and Prue Leith as Prue-bacca (a.k.a Chewbacca).

Longtime fans may have immediately realized that The Great British Baking Show cast got into costume to help spread the word about the season 10 premiere. That said, many folks couldn't help but notice an uncanny resemblance.

As soon as Matt posted the picture, fans pointed out that the wig Matt wore in the promo shot made him look like a certain former Great British Baking Show host.

"I thought Sandi was back @realmattlucas 😂😁😁," one follower commented on Instagram. "Getting real Sandi Toksvig vibes from you on this Matt! Love it! 💙," another wrote. "Is that a Sandi Tokswig?" a different fan joked.

Despite all the comments about Matt possibly taking inspiration from the former host for his promo look, folks were still just as happy to see the entire crew being their quirky selves ahead of the season 10 premiere.

"Brilliant start to the season 👏," one person wrote. "Ha ha ha it's the mixer and the bread roll buns for me," another added. "Yay. We have missed your lovely faces," someone else chimed in.

While Matt didn't address his costume closely resembling Sandi, it might just be a coincidence. As fans may know, Sandi left The Great British Baking Show in January 2020 to work on other projects. "Bake Off is a wonderful program which has already proved it can happily withstand a change of hosting personnel," she said in an official statement. "The reason for that, of course, is that the true stars of the show are the bakers themselves. I wish everyone well."

It's unknown if Sandi will make a return to the popular series in the future. But the photo definitely made a memorable moment.
