'The Great British Baking Show' Finally Has a Release Date and It's *so* Soon
September is shaping up to be much sweeter now that The Great British Baking Show finally has an official release date. People reports that the new season of the baking competition will be available on Netflix starting September 16.
For those hoping to binge their way through The Great British Baking Show, think again. The reality show, which is hosted by Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas, will keep to its standard format of releasing a new episode in the U.S. every Friday. The episodes will air on Netflix days after they premiere in the U.K., so just try to avoid spoilers.
Like past seasons, The Great British Baking Show pits amateur bakers against one another in a series of challenges to crown one winner. Given that the show highlights amateur chefs, the backgrounds of each of the competitors varies greatly. This season will reportedly welcome a music teacher, nanny, charity director, IT manager, supermarket cashier, and nuclear scientist.
News of The Great British Baking Show's U.S. premiere date comes days after the streaming service revealed its fall food show lineup. Although The Great British Baking Show was featured in the lineup, it was without a release date up until now.
Netflix did share the release date for The Great British Baking Show: Holidays, which will premiere on November 18, just as The Great British Baking Show crowns its winner.
