Funerals tend to be gloomy occasions, but one family had something sweet in mind for their late grandmother's. The family's matriarch, who happened to be a huge fan of M&Ms, was buried in an M&Ms-themed casket.

A TikTok slideshow from the funeral, which has received just shy of 5 million views, shows family members sporting colorful M&Ms-themed hats and t-shirts as they pose for photos next to the custom-built casket. On the casket is a large blue M&M with its eyes closed and arms placed across its chest. Beneath the large M&M's hands are dozens of smaller M&Ms with names of family members etched on them.

In the caption to the TikTok, the woman's grandson, Scott Roundtree, revealed that the family "loved" the casket. Roundtree also confirmed, via a response to a commenter's question, that there were M&Ms inside the casket as well.

Over on Twitter, a user by the name of Lisa Richardson (@lrich47) shared a bit of insight regarding the colorful casket.

"Thank you for sharing. Her name was Mary Ester Stocks Martin Gaily and my husband Tom is the one who built her casket. We will miss her. She was fun right to the end and this is the casket she designed with her son," she wrote in response to a tweet that included a link to Esquire Middle East's story on the casket.

Another Twitter user added that the grandmother, who was once a teacher, amassed a large M&Ms collection due to the various candies and gifts she would receive from students.

A sweet story indeed.
