'Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy' Is Coming to Netflix as a Mobile Game

Two years ago, Rockstar Games launched Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, a compilation of three GTA titles from the early 2000s. The collection is a throwback for early fans of the franchise, compiling 2001’s Grand Theft Auto III, 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and 2004’s Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

GTA: The Trilogy will now be making its way to Netflix as a mobile game. When Rockstar rereleased the games in 2021, it aimed to stay true to the originals by copying their codes and using AI to automatically revamp certain physical features of the GTA world, though many users still complained about bugs.

At the time, GTA: The Trilogy was rolled out exclusively to consoles, available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. For its upcoming mobile release, Netflix has updated each title to improve playing capabilities on a smaller device.

Fans of the franchise may or may not be planning on playing the mobile version of GTA: The Trilogy when it rolls out on December 14, but across the board, virtually everyone is anticipating the long-awaited release of GTA 6.
