Grand marshal, special drink announced for Apple Blossom Parade

Apr. 18—Frank Freudenthal will headline this year's 2024 Apple Blossom Parade as the May 4 event's grand marshal.

Before he retired, Freudenthal was the senior vice president and general manager of Midwest operations at Altec and he still shows up in the office most days. He was key in getting Altec's operations started in St. Joseph.

This year marks Apple Blossom's 100th anniversary. The parade will roll out from Noyes Boulevard and Frederick Avenue beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4.

In celebration of the parade's centennial, River Bluff Brewing has reimagined the fizz cocktail, a drink that was wildly popular in the early 1900s, and created their own carbonated apple cocktail, the Apple Blossom Fizz. The drink will be available on parade day, May 4.
