Noel Gallagher and his wife, Sara MacDonald, were together for over two decades.

Former Oasis singer, songwriter and guitarist Noel Gallagher and his wife, Sara MacDonald, have announced they are going their separate ways.

The two released a joint statement via People about the end of their 22-year relationship—12 of which were spent married.

The two share sons Donovan, 15, and Sonny, 12, whom they "will together continue to look after," assuring that the two are "their priority." They went on to request that "the media respect their privacy and that of our family at this time."

Gallagher, 55, and MacDonald, 51, met in 2000, at an Ibiza nightclub. The two shared a taxi at the end of the night, where he asked for her phone number. "I remember keeping it like it was a religious f-----g artifact," he recalled during an interview with British Vogue.

The two were married in 2011—a year after the birth of their second son. Gallagher also has a 22-year-old daughter, Anaïs, with ex-wife, Meg Mathews.

Amid their separation, Gallagher is hard at work on the promotional train for his upcoming album, which he announced on Jan. 17 is slated for a June 2 release. "Easy Now," a single off of Council Skies, was also released yesterday.

The album's title comes from a collection of work by painter Pete McKee of the same name, which the artist shared he gave permission for after Gallagher caught sight of it on his shelf and called him up. The title comes from a nickname McKee gave to one of the colors he likes to use in his work.

Gallagher describes the album as "going back to the beginning," adding, "Daydreaming, looking up at the sky and wondering about what life could be [is] as true to me now as it was in the early ‘90s."
