GQ Celebrates Breakthrough Designer of the Year Emily Adams Bode

A Paris Fashion Week debut, a CFDA award, a brand-new store—Bode designer Emily Adams Bode had a banner 2019, which culminated in her being named GQ’s Breakthrough Designer of the Year. Last night at Il Buco Alimentari in NYC, GQ and Bode friends and collaborators raised a glass in Emily’s honor. Bode was well represented at the dinner party sponsored by Samsung Galaxy Fold. Evan Mock arrived in one of the brand’s signature patchwork corduroy suits, while GQ editor-in-chief Will Welch opted for a kit made of antique African cloth. As Ryan McGinley, Trinidad James, Alex Olson, Nate Lowman, and Mordechai Rubinstein looked on, Welch offered a toast: “Enough with the ‘emerging designer’ thing. Emily has arrived.” Check out the scene for yourself.
