Got Some Spoiler-Filled Tea on The Bachelorette’s Aaron Clancy for Ya

We’re only a few weeks into Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette, and it’s clear she has zero tolerance for people who aren’t there for the *breathes exhausted sigh* right reasons. Which means most of the remaining dudes seem genuinely interested in finding love on the show instead of, you know, fame or growing their following so they can do toothpaste #sponcon. Which brings us to Aaron Clancy!

Aaron’s been involved in some major drama (and mud wrestling) this season thanks to a blast from his past, and if you’re in the mood to get to know him better/stalk him on Insta, we’re right there with you. Here’s what you need to know about Aaron as the season progresses, including how far he makes it and what comes next. Which, yes, means that spoilers are gonna be part of this post! So lemme just go ahead and...

Spoilers are ahead! Don’t pretend you’re not living for them!

He’s a “California Stud”

At least that’s how ABC describes him, and they aren’t wrong! Aaron is from San Diego, where he works as an insurance agent and “enjoys being outdoors, surfing, and lifting weights.”

They weren’t kidding about that last part:

He also has big dreams! In five years, Aaron “hopes to own his business and work for himself.”

Aaron’s Beef With Cody Goes Way Back

As we saw in The Bachelorette premiere, Aaron and Cody Menk inexplicably didn’t get along, prompting some fans to wonder if they have offscreen drama.

Answer? They do! According to Reality Steve, Aaron and Cody both live in the San Diego area, and “they definitely at least knew of each other and ran in the same friend circle.”

Cody confirmed this on the show, saying, “I know him from back in San Diego. I was surprised to see him actually. But we’re not really cool. We’re not friends. But there were just some social media posts or there’s things he did that kinda rubbed me the wrong way. So I know he really wants to become famous or get on the those for those reasons.”

He added, “The way he handles situations, to me, I find disturbing. He handles things that, in a way, it’s malicious. So it’s just not energy I want around me. I wouldn’t say he’s necessarily a piece of shit. But there’s always that concern there.”

Katie ended up eliminating Cody, FYI!

He Was a Profesh Swimmer

Apparently, Aaron was a NCAA swimmer in college, a fact that’s mostly just an excuse for me to post this:

He Wants a Partner Who Supports Him

On Aaron’s wish list for a girlfriend/wife/partner? “A woman who is down to earth, smart, funny and is someone who doesn’t take herself too seriously.” But he also “plans to leave a legacy behind,” so he wants someone who is “going to support him and encourage his dreams.” Gots it. And if all else fails, at least he has this cute dog:

🚨 SPOILER AHEAD!!!!🚨

He Goes on Bachelor in Paradise

Aaron is one of Katie’s eliminated contestants that gets another shot at (televised) love over on Bachelor in Paradise. And while the new season hasn’t aired just yet, it has finished filming, which means we have spoilers! Reality Steve reports that Aaron gives his first rose in Paradise to former Bachelorette Becca Kufrin. TBD exactly how far he makes it, but he and Becca don’t end up together and he’s not one of the final engaged couples on the show.
