Hey there, Upper East Siders (and everyone else): Gossip Girl may just be coming back to the small screen soon, according to TVLine. CW President Mark Pedowitz confirmed that there's talk about rebooting the iconic 2007-2012 series that shot Blake Lively and Leighton Meester into stardom as New York City's wealthy, impeccably-dressed frenemies Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen.

“There’s a discussion, but I don’t know if we’re there yet,” Pedowitz told reporters yesterday at the TV Critics' Association press tour. “I don’t know what it would be. A lot is up to Warner Bros. and [exec producers] Josh [Schwartz] and Steph[anie Savage], ’cause you don’t want to do anything without them.”

Pedowitz didn't reveal whether a reboot of the series would mean a new cast or bringing back some old faces to reprise their roles. But both Meester and Woodsen at the very least have spoken in the past about being open to doing some kind of reunion for the show.

In April 2017, Lively told Variety that she's open to the idea of doing a grown-up Gossip Girl with the original cast. "It sort of all depends," she said. "Would I do seven years of the show? No, because it's hard work and I've got my babies, and I don't want to be away from them that much. But I've just learned in life you never say never. I'm looking to do something that I haven't done yet, not something that I did. But would I do that? Who knows-if it was good, if it made sense. We had so much fun shooting and living and working in New York City."

Meester was a little more reluctant to commit when she spoke to Vanity Fair about the possibility in August 2017 but wasn't completely opposed to it either. “I guess I hear that [reunion talk] in fits and starts here and there, but it’s hard to say," Meester said.. "If everyone was into it and if the timing was right, you know? I don’t want to say, ‘No, never…’”
