Gosha Rubchinskiy Will Cease Showing Seasonal Collections
Instead, the label reports “something new is coming.”

This morning, Gosha Rubchinskiy announced on Instagram that he will stop showing collections according to traditional seasons. The post stated the following: "We will stop Gosha Rubchinskiy brand as you've known it. We will have no more seasonal collections. Instead, something new is coming." For the last few seasons, Rubchinskiy had opted to show in his native Russia in the cities of Yekaterinburg, Saint Petersburg, and Kaliningrad. The news comes a day after Comme des Garçons, which operates Gosha Rubchinskiy, added an online-only, direct-to-consumer label to its bastion of brands.

Gosha Rubchinskiy is not the first label to go seasonless. The decision follows in the steps of Rubchinskiy's contemporary and friend, Demna Gvasalia of Vetements, who last year told Vogue that "We are not going to show in the classical system anymore." (Their first shakeup included combining men's and women's collections.) Other recent changes to the traditional fashion season include Burberry and Tommy Hilfiger’s moves to a see-now, buy-now method of showing. As for Rubchinskiy, who has a massive cult following and collaborated with Burberry for Spring 2018, we're sure that his fans will follow him no matter what his next venture may be.
