Gordon Ramsay is known for being pretty intense on his shows, but when it comes to his personal life he doesn't seem to mind showing his softer side. In a recent interview with the Mirror, Gordon said he wants to be a better father to his children than his dad was to him.

According to the celebrity chef, his upbringing was difficult because he wasn't his father's favorite. Plus, Gordon's family didn't come from wealth, so he knew growing up that he wanted to break that generational pattern.

“I had a very humble upbringing—loved by my mother and, I think, loved by my father, but I was desperate to get out the sh**hole I was in," Gordon said. "I didn't want to turn out like my dad. I didn't want to live in a council house and put my kids to school with second-hand clothes. You strive to better yourself."

Gordon and his wife Tana have five kids together: their oldest daughter, Megan; twins Holly and Jack; Matilda; and their newest baby, Oscar who is not even one year old yet. Recently, the closeness of the family has been apparent. Did you see Gordon dancing with Matilda on TikTok?

In the interview, he said that when his older children were younger, he was spending a lot of time doing work instead hanging of with the kids. Having just welcomed Oscar to the world back in April, Gordon wants to make it a point to be more present. "I am convinced I am going to spend more time with Oscar," he said. "I am excited to be more hands-on.
