Chef Gordon Ramsay recently revealed that he has arthritis in his knee and suffered injuries after falling during a run.

In a recent interview with The Sun, Gordon said he recently had meniscus surgery and had been on crutches for the past two weeks. He suffered an injury while running up a hill which he called "f*cking painful." Following an X-ray around that same time, his doctor also told him that there was evidence of arthritis in his knee.

"I’d never heard that word in relation to me before. He told me I needed to start slowing down," Gordon told the outlet: "It was a case of ‘Imagine you’ve got 1.5 million steps to run over the next 30 years...pace yourself.'"

Gordon, who is a self-professed "workaholic," said he is "slightly scared of stopping" and noted that workouts are his release. He shared that they've been good for his mental health, especially during COVID-19 lockdowns. He said he's also motivated to stay in shape for his kids after his father died of a heart attack at 53. Still, he also noted that he knows he'll have to slow down a bit in the future. And thanks to a bit of tough love from his mom, it seems Gordon is getting his brain wrapped around his arthritis diagnosis.

"I told my mum, though, and she told me to stop being so stupid and to just get on with it. So that was nice," he said. Anyone who has seen Gordon give tough love to chefs on TV or TikTok will see the apple hasn't fallen too far from the tree!
