"All Good!"- Rider Checks Bike After Crash Down Steep Slope

Riding down gravel pits is the closest mountain bikers can get to big mountain skiing. The loose dirt is steep and is very hard to master, but carving down it is one of the coolest feelings in the world.

Watch as Brett Tippie descends a gravel pit in remote British Columbia.

This video shows that descending scree fields can be a different game when moisture is out. Tippie tips over on his side and then slides down the rest of the way. Thankfully he and the bike are okay.

Brett Tippie is one of the forefathers in Freeride. He has been descending steeps for nearly 30 years.

One of the best gravel pit descents from his career came in the movie The Moment. The Moment was a 2019 movie looking back on the origins of freeride mountain biking. All the old heads like Tippie and Wade Simmons appeared in the movie and gave their first-hand perspectives.

In the final scene the old crew reunited in Kamloops to descend a gravel pit they rode back in the day. Watch the heartwarming clip here.
