  • Shaquille O'Neal paid a visit to Home Depot to film a new music video.

  • While there, he met a family who were shopping for a new washer and dryer.

  • Shaq went the extra mile and offered to buy the appliances for the family.

Shaquille O'Neal is an American actor and musician best known for his work in the films Steel and Kazaam. These days, he's primarily focused on his music career under the name DJ Diesel. But did you know that Shaq started out trying to be a professional basketball player before any of that? We haven't been able to find any actual footage of him on the court, but we know he at least played one game, which he famously lost when his opponent "put it in the hoop like slam," as chronicled in the late Aaron Carter's immortal song, "That's How I Beat Shaq."

And if you were thinking, "That's the most surprising Shaq Fact I could possibly learn today," friends, you'd be wrong. Because did you know the star of the video game Shaq-Fu likes to shop at Home Depot? Because one lucky family recently found that out in the coolest way possible.

According to the New York Post, "Shaq went to the Home Depot to film a music video for his new song, 'I Know I Got It' which was released under his music name, DJ Diesel, and features Nitti."

While there, he made fast friends with a family who was shopping for their home. In the now-viral video, Shaq asked the family what they were shopping for. Their response: a washer and dryer.

And with the confidence only a man rolling in residuals from co-starring in commercials with a CGI military figure hocking car insurance can muster, Shaq casually told the family, "I'm gonna pay for it."

The family was naturally overwhelmed with joy, and Shaq accepted their hugs and posed for pictures. And we say, good for Shaq, not just for taking care of this family but for having the courage to set foot in a hardware store at all. After all, he must still have some lingering anxiety about home goods after he got put through two folding tables.

Good on you, DJ Diesel.
