It's official: Our days at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital are coming to an end.

After six seasons of being on the air, The Good Doctor will end after season 7. The surprise news was first revealed by Deadline on January 11. What's more, the outlet shared the final episodes are slated to air Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. ET, with the premiere episode dropping on February 20.

"Thanks to David Shore and Liz Friedman’s creative direction and anchored by Freddie Highmore’s performance, The Good Doctor has captivated audiences, who have deeply connected with Dr. Shaun Murphy and the staff at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital," said Craig Erwich, president, Disney Television Group in an official statement. "As we prepare to finish this beloved story, words cannot express our gratitude for the incredible cast, crew and our partners at Sony and ABC Signature for the lasting impact they’ve made."

What's more, the show's social team shared the news on Instagram, along with a promotional shot advertising "the farewell season." "After 6️⃣ incredible seasons, The Good Doctor says goodbye," read the caption. "Join us for the farewell season Feb 20 on ABC and Stream on Hulu."

When fans saw the post, they immediately rushed to the comments to share their sadness for it. "I am not ready for this to end," one person wrote on Instagram. "REVERSE THIS DECISION IMMEDIATELY. I BEG," another screamed. "My heart is breaking," another viewer added.

At the time of ABC's announcement, The Hollywood Reporter noted the medical drama averaged 6.24 million viewers in Nielsen's seven-day ratings over the last TV season. Additionally, the show's streaming numbers added 30 to 40% more viewers on a weekly basis.

As for how the cast is feeling about The Good Doctor coming to an end, Freddie (who portrays Dr. Shaun Murphy) had his own statement summarizing his time on the show.

"Playing Dr. Shaun Murphy has been an immense privilege and one of the most remarkable and rewarding experiences of my life," he stated, per Entertainment Weekly. "I will always be grateful to David, Liz, and Erin as well as the hugely talented and lovely cast, writers, and crew who made this show possible. Caring deeply is what got us here. Thank you to Sony and ABC, and to everyone who has watched along at home. With love from Vancouver… tequila, stat!"
