"Good Bones" Star Mina Starsiak Hawk Met Husband Steve on Facebook
HGTV's Mina Starsiak Hawk has been married to husband Steve Hawk for almost five years! While Steve doesn't appear on Mina's show Good Bones, he can be seen frequently on her Instagram profile. In fact, the couple, who are parents to son Jack Richard, 2, and daughter Charlotte (Charlie), 7 months, have an incredibly cute love story. 2013: Mina and Steve met
Mina and Steve met on Facebook in 2013! According to Country Living the couple actually connected through mutual friends on the social media platform. Mina had seen a photo of him and thought he was "stunningly handsome."
When they finally met IRL, it was at a baseball game. Unfortunately, their first date didn’t pan out the way Mina had hoped. "He ignored me all night," she told Country Living in 2018, adding "He let his friend hit on me!"
However, the reno pro gave him a second chance and fortunately things worked out for the better. Steve was first spotted on Mina’s Instagram in July 2013. Later that fall, she made her debut on his Instagram wearing a baseball hat (ha!).
March 2015: Mina and Steve got engaged
Steve proposed to Mina in March 2015. He popped the question at the Indianapolis Colts' training field.
June 2016: Mina and Steve get married
The two officially became husband wife a year later on June 11, 2016 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The couple celebrated with 400 donuts (substituting a wedding cake) in the city's 1899 building, according to Country Living.
February 2018: Mina shared that she and Steve were expecting their first child
In February 2018, Mina and Steve announced that they were expecting their first child—with the help of a clever movie poster. But before everyone was let in on the great news, Mina told Steve in an unexpected way, which involved bacon.
August 2018: Mina and Steve welcomed their son Jack Richard Hawk
Mina gave birth to Jack Richard Hawk on August 9, 2018. After only one week of giving birth, Mina was back to work with newborn Jack by her side, and whenever she films, Steve naturally takes over.
December 2019: Mina shared that she was struggling with infertility
Mina revealed in an Instagram post that the only way she could carry another child was using a donor egg. In the caption she wrote, “I’ve been sharing my fertility ride publicly [because] of the thousands of messages from women it’s helping.... but I never anticipated what I would do if it wasn’t successful." After sharing her limited options for conceiving, she ended the caption with a tone of hope, writing “There is more to come. I’m not sure what it is yet. But it doesn’t feel over."
March 2020: Mina shares that she is pregnant with their second child
In March 2o20, Mina announced her pregnancy on Instagram by posting an adorable image resembling a movie poster for Toy Story. In the same post, she also shared a selfie of her smiling wide and holding a picture of an ultrasound.
September 2020: Mina and Steve welcome daughter Charlotte
Mina gave birth to her second child, Charlotte Drew Hawk, on September 16, 2020.
