  • HGTV's Good Bones premiered a new episode on Tuesday, starring mother-daughter duo Mina Starsiak and Karen Laine.

  • The Season 4 episode featured a tropical wallpaper, which fans started comparing to Blanche Devereaux's bedroom from The Golden Girls.

  • The CW Stockwell wallpaper called Martinique was first featured in the Beverly Hills Hotel in 1942.

On Tuesday, a new episode of HGTV’s Good Bones, starring mother-daughter duo Mina Starsiak and Karen Laine, premiered, and there was one particular detail about the renovation that stood out to viewers.

The Season 4 episode, “Tiny Condo, Giant Upgrade” showed the founders of Two Chicks and a Hammer tackling a building with multiple condos, starting off with a unit on the ground floor.

When the interior renovation was revealed, Mina and Karen showed off the bedroom that had been transformed from a dark, empty space into a bright, colorful room with a chandelier and a bed post. But it was the green and white wallpaper that stole the show, leading fans to compare it to Blanche Devereaux’s bedroom from The Golden Girls.

“That wallpaper looks like Blanche's bedroom on the Golden Girls!” one person wrote. “That’s the same wallpaper that Blanche had on the golden girls,”another fan agreed, while another asked, “Is the wallpaper ‘Martinique’?” “It looks like Blanche [Devereaux's] bedroom."

Fans of The Golden Girls may remember Blanche's room featuring the famous banana leaf motif, formally known as Martinique, on her walls and bedspread. Thanks to the sitcom, the CW Stockwell design had a resurgence in popularity (originally seen in the Beverly Hills Hotel), prompting producers to take home the expensive bedspread in order to ensure it wouldn't go missing during the off season.

But the lively wallpaper wasn’t love at first sight for all viewers, and it started an argument against the comforter chosen for the bed. “Cute condo and details....wallpaper needs to go way too busy,” one person said.

“Isn't that too busy? Wallpaper and bed cover too much,” another asked.

“That bedroom way too much. The bedspread really is ugly. Sorry,” a viewer wrote.

Of course, these interior design choices didn’t stop Good Bones fans from loving Mina and Karen altogether. “Love your show. Not this room. Sorry,” a viewer confessed.

“Whoa!!! That's way too loud and busy! But love you girls! Your awesome!” another person shared.
