Good American is keeping good on its ambition to create a more inclusive fashion industry.

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles-based brand hosted “Every Body,” its first-ever panel at Soho House in West Hollywood moderated by Good American co-founders Khloé Kardashian and Emma Grede. They were joined by model Ashley Graham for a conversation on diversity, inclusion and the importance of representation in fashion.

Panelists discuss how the brand is making the fashion industry as “inclusive as possible.”

“It is important to sit down and have an honest conversation around the lack of inclusivity in fashion and how we can all be doing our part to make the industry as diverse and representative as possible,” Grede said. “We founded Good American with the goal of building a community that keeps inclusivity at the core of everything we do. We were thrilled to have Ashley Graham join us as someone else who has constantly pushed the boundaries in the industry and advocated for change. ”

While the Every Body panel is Good American’s first, the brand said it will act as the first of many conversations it plans to host with fashion leaders to address “critical topics” across inclusivity, diversity and more.

“Over the past six years, we’ve built a community that celebrates and uplifts women of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds, and our Every Body event brought this to life,” Kardashian said.

The size-inclusive B Corp has tackled inclusivity head on since its inception in 2016.

Known for its denim, the brand also continues to expand its pant sizing. In 2018, Good American introduced “the elusive” size 15 to its line of women’s jeans to try to bridge the gap between “missy” and plus sizes.

It launched the Always Fit jeans in 2020 to help eliminate the need for consumers to purchase new jeans as their weight fluctuated during the Covid-19 pandemic. Offering 100 percent stretchability—compared to the average of just 50 percent at the time—each jeans could be worn by up to three or four sizes without sacrificing fit, with size categories including 00-4, 6-12, 14-18, 20-26 and 28-32.

Good American applied its size-inclusive values to women’s footwear in 2020 by offering suede and synthetic upper heels, slingbacks, sandals, flats and boots, in sizes 4-14. Each size was available in extended widths in feet, calves and thighs, resulting in 72 sizing variables that ensured all women had access to shoes that could accommodate the size of their feet and legs.

In addition to offering a wide range of sizes, Good American tries to represent women who embody its values of confidence and female empowerment—no matter their size, background or location—in its #GoodSquad campaigns. The open casting call to join the #GoodSquad is an annual initiative that amplifies the Good American values of body positivity and inclusivity inspired by the relative scarcity of plus-size models when the brand launched.

“Inclusivity is more than just a moment, but a critical movement and reinforces why our annual Open Casting is so important to give real women the chance to join our #GoodSquad,” Kardashian said.
