Golden Retriever's Priceless 'War on Tomatoes' Is Too Funny for Words

Golden Retrievers are the comedians of the dog world and you can't convince me otherwise. Sometimes it seems they do things strictly for the amusement of their owners and this hilarious dog named Marlee is no exception.

Just watch what Marlee does when she is confronted with not just one, but two cherry tomatoes.

She is just too cute for words especially with her big 'ol pounce! The hilarious video was shared by the TikTok account for @marleethegoldie and people can't get enough of Marlee and her war on tomatoes. One person commented "That dog saw 'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes' and thought it was a documentary." Another added, "I know orange cats can be nutty, I have one. Is this the same thing about orange dogs?" Another replied, "My dog doesn’t know what to think of blueberries so she picks them up in her mouth and throws them." LOL! Someone else said, "Golden Retrievers will always be my favorite ones. There “something” inside their head which you can’t explain."

In case you can't get enough of Marlee and her war on vegetables, here she is encountering a piece of cucumber.

I don't know about you but I think I could watch this silly girl go after random vegetables all day just to see how she reacts to each one. I love how she sploofs when she has no idea what to do with it!

Can Dogs Eat Tomatoes?

Can dogs eat tomatoes or are they bad for them? Dogs can eat tomatoes in very small amounts. Considering Marlee is mainly attacking these cherry tomatoes and not gobbling them up I don't think her owner should be too concerned. Ripe tomatoes are not toxic to dogs and can be fed if your dog enjoys them, but most dogs don't like them. Do note that dogs should only be given little taste of ripe tomato. Dogs can get tomato poisoning if they consume too many tomatoes that are unripened—this usually happens after they gorge themselves. Tomato poisoning may occur if your dog gets into a garden, and eats all of the tomatoes for example. Your affected pet might present as lethargic, drowsy, have gastrointestinal upset (vomiting and diarrhea), a slowed heart rate, and additional issues.

If you suspect your dog has eaten too many tomatoes, contact your veterinarian immediately.
