Golden Retriever Starts His Bedroom Routine at 5pm and People Are Feeling Him

Have you ever heard of the zoomies? Well one dog online has the exact opposite habit and it's cracking people up online. Monte really loves his "me time," and has a pretty set evening routine that ensures he gets some laze about every single night.

It's sort of like how some people do their skincare routine every night, except that Monte has his own customs.

Monte's mama Mandy caught him in the act recently and shared just a snippet of his routine online. The clip shows the Golden Retriever with a blanket in his mouth dragging it across the floor and up the stairs.

"'It's 5 pm.' My dog:" the onscreen caption joked. We guess the Golden is on a tight schedule, huh? He must take his downtime very seriously.

"He is a mood," his mama joked the caption.

People in the comments section were tickled by Monte's nightly program. "My Golden does this too! He will go get a blanket and bring it to the living room. His name should have been Linus," joked one person. "Bedtime Mom…my routine comes first," someone else teased. "Meanwhile my dog is ready to go biserko at 5 pm," a third person lamented. "Me too puppers I'm right behind you!" one woman chimed in.

There are lots of factors why your dog may or may not rest easily through the night, like their breed, age, health, or environment. So if you want to help them sleep, here are a few helpful tips and tricks that can make the process a whole lot better.

First, you'll want to make sure you're giving your dog plenty of exercise throughout the day so they'll be tired at night. At least 30 minutes of day and try to vary the type of exercise if you can.

Sometimes adjusting your dog's feeding schedule can help. Move their dinnertime up so that they have more time to digest before winding down for the night.

When it comes time to head to bed, try to create a relaxing environment. Turn down the lights, reduce any stimuli, and take them out for a final bathroom break for the night. You want to help your dog wind down and drift off easily.

You can also play sleep sounds at night to help lull your dog to sleep. Just like humans, white noise, nature, or classical music can soothe dogs and get them to calm down.

Or maybe you want them to get a special blanket like Monte — that seems to do the trick.
