Golden Retriever’s Confusion Over Chatty Husky Is Cracking Everyone Up

Introducing your dog to another dog can be challenging, especially if your dog isn't sure how to react to it. Tuckerbudzyn shared a video in February 2023 or their Golden Retriever Todd meeting a very vocal Husky for the first time. Todd wasn't sure what to make of all the chitchat, and the whole thing was funny to watch.

The Husky was so excited to make a new friend and wanted to play with Todd. Its tail was wagging, and they tried to start a conversation. But Todd wasn't having it and looked very confused by all the talking! He went to his dad Tucker for help but didn't get any. Watch till the end to see what Todd decides to do instead.

His face was so funny! The confusion was real! Todd wasn't not interested in playing or any boops - so he ran to his dog mom to save him! I wonder if the two ended up being friends or if the Husky just had to play by himself. Tuckerbudzyn got a kick out of the one-sided conversation. One commenter suggested, "There’s some kind of language barrier LOL!" @Kookiethehuskie laughed, "It's the jump for Todd every time the husky is barking for me!!!" @Nicos Mamma pointed out, "Tucker is like just don’t look at him and he’ll go away!" And @ciarra got nearly 2,500 likes for her comment, "Huskies have a mind of their own!"

Golden Retrievers Love Making New Friends

Maybe the Husky came on too strong for Todd because Golden Retrievers love everybody! They are known for being able to get along with almost any other dog breed and are even friendly with other animals.

Goldens can rough house with rowdy dogs and be gentle and kind with timid dogs. They're very patient, so they're even good with small dogs and puppies. They are extroverted and don't like being alone (they even get separation anxiety), so having a buddy is something they do well with.

That being said, they're not perfect. Goldens are gentle giants, but they don't realize just how big they really are - they can get up to 75 pounds, so be careful introducing them to smaller dogs and puppies who don't know that they can be stepped on.

They're also very loyal and form strong bonds with their owners, so make sure that you pay more attention to your pooch than the new dog. If they get jealous, they may get whiny and sulk, and need some extra love.

When introducing a Golden to a new dog, make sure to do it on neutral ground and keep the meeting short if it doesn't go well. You can always try again another time.
