What Is Going on With Jimmy and Chelsea? And All the Other Thoughts We Had Watching the Love Is Blind Season 6 Reunion

COURTESY OF NETFLIX

Pod squad, we made it to the Love Is Blind season 6 reunion.

After a season full of drama, tears, true love, and Megan Fox, we finally get updates on our favorite (?) couples during the special, which aired on Netflix on March 13.

To mark this momentous occasion, the Glamour staff got together (via Slack) to watch the reunion, sharing all of our reactions and hot takes in real time. Here are our thoughts, completely unfiltered, about the messy reunion to cap off possibly the most messy season of Love Is Blind yet.

So grab a gold goblet of wine, and let’s get into it.

First thoughts:

“Did not need this whole intro—just tell me what's up with Jimmy and Chelsea!” —Anna Moeslein, deputy editor

“OMG, is this really an hour and a half? Let’s keep it moving, guys.” —Stephanie McNeal, senior editor

The reunion starts with some updates from Love Is Blind stars of yore, all of whom show up for the occasion.

“I cannot believe Colleen and Matt are still together, and I will never get over Giannina and Blake from The Bachelorette being together.” —SM

We then move into the first confrontation of the night: Jeramey and Sarah Ann versus Laura (and all the podmates on her side). Jeramey and Sarah Ann reveal they have been dating since they rode off on Jet Skis together into the sunset, with Sarah Ann saying they’ve now been together for about a year. With Laura on Zoom from a work trip in Barcelona, the group unleash on the pair for how they handled the situation.

“Jeramey and Laura were a terrible match. I don’t know why she cares. Have we all forgotten how mean she was to him IRL?!!” —Natasha Pearlman, executive editor

“Why are they all speaking TikTok-ese (girl's girl, pick-me)?” —SM

“Laura's fighting for her life to keep a straight face.” —Sam Reed, senior trending news and entertainment editor

“Imagine your man fighting with his ex in front of you lol.” —Jazmin Gathers, social media manager

“Sarah Ann watching herself back like, ‘That girl's awesome.’” —SR

“They’re both fighting over someone who is truly deeply not worth it.” —NP

“Chelsea the tea! On and off that many times in the first year is wild.” —SR

“I give them one more month.” —NP

“They're giving Sarah Ann too much air time.” —Ru Wolle, special projects editor

“This is dragging on. Let’s get to Jimmy.” —Malia Griggs, commerce editor

“The level of side-eying she keeps receiving from the entire cast because she's defending THIS MAN.” —RW

“I cannot pay attention to anything Sarah Ann says—the body glitter is too distracting.” —AM

“I guess if these two say they are happy and want to ride off into the sunset together (or drive off…on Jet Skis), we should just let them? And I’m rooting for Laura.” —SM

With Sarah Ann and Jeramey chastised, the Lacheys bring in their next contestant for the hot seat: Trevor. The fan favorite has been embroiled in a scandal off-camera when he was accused of having a secret girlfriend during filming.

“This music for Trevor's walkout; it sounds like he's about to sell me power tools.” —SR

Nick and Vanessa then read the alleged texts that leaked online, a.k.a. they brought receipts.

“Oh shit, these are damning. The dramatic reading of the texts!” —SR

“Nick and Vanessa!!!! This might be their greatest interrogation ever.” —NP

“SAY IT WITH YO CHEST.” —RW

“Oh TREVOR.” —NP

“OMG the SOUND EFFECTS.” —SM

“Trevor, we were rooting for you.” —JG

“I can’t say I enjoyed watching Trevor getting skewered.” —MG

Having thoroughly destroyed Trevor, it’s time to move on to our final couples. First up: AD and Clay.

“‘Low key, respectfully, you played my fucking face’ is wild lmao.” —SR

“I have always believed in them and I swear they will end up married one day. You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.” —NP

“I root for them? Clay! I’m so sad. I believe in him! Am I dumb?” —SM

“Noo. I believe in him. But the one thing he never did was say why he loved AD for AD. He still always says it’s because she validates him. But what does he love about HER.” —NP

“Drink every time Clay says therapy.” —SR

“That was always my thing with Clay! Main-character syndrome all the time. He never viewed her as her own individual outside of how she affected him.” —AM

“That’s my reality show pet peeve. Men saying they love women because of what the woman gives them and how the woman makes them feel more like men. (Also my pet peeve about One Day lol.)” —MG

We then are treated to a montage of lovebirds Johnny and Amy, who, thankfully, say they have figured out the whole birth control thing. We then finally get to unpack possibly the messiest relationship of the season: Chelsea and Jimmy.

“Clearly the whole revealing Jimmy slept with his friend situation is still a touchy subject.” —SM

“Jimmy is so good at deescalating.” —SR

“A pro.” —NP

“It’s really interesting to hear the other women say the Chelsea they saw onscreen with Jimmy (especially her insecurities) is so different from the Chelsea they know (bubbly, confident). It’s sad to see how much Chelsea struggled on the show.” —SM

Jess then confronts Jimmy about what she calls a hurtful comment he made to the media after the show aired, saying she has never spoken negatively about him.

“I’m riveted. This whole convo is why it would never have worked between them. I’m a bit over this. Sorry, Jess.” —NP

“Are we feeling Team Jimmy or Team Jess?” —SM

“Team Jimmy. Controversial?” —NP

“I hope Jess can get over this, be BFF with Chelsea, and not worry about Jimmy anymore. It didn’t work out, and that’s okay! You’re not even his most recent breakup, time to move on.” —SM

“Also Team Jimmy here. This is exhausting. He’s just…a dude. Not malicious. Just a dude in a corner.” —MG

“I think the only villain tonight is JerAmey.” —AM

We finally get an update on Brittany and Kenneth, who, while no longer engaged, say they are now close friends. Which is awesome, but…

“Ok, so big question they haven’t asked: What happened with Jimmy and Chelsea AFTER they called off the wedding. Why haven’t they asked?!!!” —NP

“It's very weird to spend so much time on Jess. Like more than Chelsea and Jimmy's actual engagement.” —AM

“They're waiting till the end to talk Jimmy and Chelsea because that's the big question.” —SR

Okay but…they never do. We never hear what Chelsea and Jimmy’s current status is!

“That was insane! They were holding hands and stroking each other. And they never asked them.” —NP

“I'm so mad I watched the show.” —SR

Final thoughts on the Love Is Blind season 6 reunion.

"Nick and Vanessa get redemption points from me. They went in.” —Chantal Waldholz, senior director, audience development

“(1) Still rooting for Clay and AD. (2) It felt like the whole Jess segment was just a promo for Perfect Match. And Jimmy and Chelsea were just collateral.” —NP

“I could’ve done without so much Sarah Ann and Jeramey.” —MG

“Jessica is exactly right casting for Perfect Match. And not surprised one bit that she and Micah are friends now—same energy!” —AM

“That was so silly. Anyway, same time, same place for the Love Is Blind season 7 reunion?” —SM
