Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is about to bring a spectacular showdown to theatres ahead of schedule.

Originally revealed to be releasing April 12, 2024, now Warner Bros.' much-hyped sequel is set for a March 29 launch. That brings the date forward by two weeks.

It’s not alone. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is bringing its release date forward, while Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire has also been moved up a few weeks.

Filming for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire wrapped in late 2022. Since then, the production team has been hard at work with an undoubtedly huge list of VFX shots.

That comes with the territory of a movie which sees CGI behemoths fight for dominance of two distinct territories: Earth, and the region beneath it, Hollow Earth.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire promises to build out its Hollow Earth lore, further developing its ambitious, multi-pronged MonsterVerse.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire launches March 29, 2024.
