'Goat Simulator' Announces New Installment After 8 Years

There may not have been a Goat Simulator 2, but that hasn't stopped Coffee Stain from announcing Goat Simulator 3 over at the Summer Games Fest 2022. Coming more than eight years since the release of the original hit Goat Simulator, the Swedish video game developer is bringing back the fan-favorite Pilgor the goat to your PC and consoles later this year, although the maniacal bovid will now be terrorizing a brand new location called San Angora.

Coffee Stain promises a bunch of "hidden secrets, quests, collectibles" in the city alongside your regular variety of customizable items for your goat ranging from hats to toilet rolls to jet packs. The team has also added multiplayer support so you can wreak havoc in a group of four friends.

"Since the release of the first Goat Simulator, it’s come to our attention that it did not really represent reality and how it actually feels to be a goat," said the studio's creative director Santiago Ferrero. "So for the past couple of years, we’ve been doing some Googling, and I am pleased to say — we’ve made it. Goat Simulator 3 is by far the greatest goat experience out there. Is it worth the money? Who knows. But will you regret it? Probably."

Elsewhere in gaming, SEGA has announced an animated prologue for Sonic Frontiers.
