Well, the rumors and our all-but-certain article last week have officially been confirmed and Greg Minnaar is officially on Norco Bikes. Not only that, but he is heading up the development of a new downhill team and downhill race bike.

The official announcement came this morning and you can take a look at it below.

Per Norco's press release, It looks like the plan is that Greg is going to be the head honcho of their current team consisting of Gracey Hemstreet and Lucas Cruz in addition to developing a new team for the future.

He will also be mentoring Norco's development team, The Source, per the press release. That's quite a stroke of luck for the up and comers on the team to get to have The Greg Minnaar as their mentor.

Greg has also been heavily involved in the development of Norco's new downhill race bike which was also heavily teased in their announcement. It looks like it has a similar high pivot inverted horst link suspension platform to the Range which is their most recent long travel bike.

Additionally, it looks like Greg and Norco have been experimenting with suspension companies other than Fox which has been Greg's suspension for the last long while. Not that that says a ton, suspension companies often work with teams as a whole, but Greg has been known to be notoriously meticulous about his setups, so seeing him make any changes at all is enough to raise eyebrows.

It is clear that Greg is far from being done racing and as a fan, that is music to my - and presumably many others' - ears. It will be exciting to see how the GOAT does on a new platform and working with a new program. By the looks of it, things have been off to a roaring start so that bodes very well for the future.
