'GMA' Host Robin Roberts Just Shared Huge Career News on Instagram

Robin Roberts has had quite a busy year! Along with getting married to her partner Amber Laign, she's also making major career moves.

Shortly after returning from her honeymoon, the Good Morning America news anchor shared epic news with her fans on Instagram. Posting a screenshot from an article from Variety, Robin announced her plans to start her own production unit with ABC News Studios. What's more, she expressed her elation over the fact she will be working on different journalism projects outside of daytime television.

"Incredibly grateful for the creation of this unit," she wrote on September 19. "My wonderful team and I are looking forward to sharing new and compelling stories with you in a wide range of formats."

When folks noticed Robin revealed her latest business venture on social media, they couldn't help but celebrate her achievement in the comments.

"❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️," Jenna Dewan wrote on Instagram. "Congratulations, Robin! What a wonderful time for you (and Sweet Amber). I’m happy for you xx," Jennifer Garner rejoiced. "Fantastic news! Can’t wait to see 🙌," Robin's co-host Ginger Zee replied.

Fans were equally ecstatic to see Robin's new prospect as well. "Congratulations! Can't wait to watch!" one person penned. "Congratulations! You are so deserving of this!👏🏾🫶🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾," another commented. "Wonderful! I can't wait to see what you create!" a different follower added.

So, what could viewers expect from Robin's new production unit? As Jonathan Blakely, an executive producer for the venture, told Variety, the upcoming content will feature "everything from pop culture to true crime, and some things that might surprise some people." Obviously, ABC News is ecstatic about the type of programming Robin's vision will bring to the network.

And for those wondering if Robin's first project will be out soon, you're in luck. The TV host's first program Kerry Washington: Thicker Than Water — a Conversation With Robin Roberts will air September 24 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC, where she'll speak to actress Kerry Washington about the September 26 debut of her memoir of the same name.
