Glow-in-the-Dark Hair Is Here to Light Up Your Day — Ahem, Night

From Good Housekeeping

Hair colorist Guy Tang is reinventing what it means to take hair from day to night - his latest project is something he calls Phoenix Neon Glowing Hair, which promises neon strands by day and an intergalactic hair explosion by night.

Tang's already known for his intensely pigmented rainbow hair, but this new look really kicks it up a notch. Instead of vanishing into darkness, you'll be able light up the night sky with your color job. Well, okay. You can light up a really dark room, and you'll need a black light to do it. Glow-in-the-dark effect aside, the color looks pretty darn good under the sun too. And we can totally see where Tang drew name inspiration. The model's hair - her whole head, really - appears to be wrapped in multi-toned flames, as if she, like the mythical bird, just rose from ash. "She looks like Rapunzel in Tangled with glowing hair," wrote Tang in an Instagram post. Pretty accurate.

"It's a transition from the fuchsia to the fiery concoction," Tang explained on Instagram, while walking his followers through the process. He even gives us a glimpse of the color as it "cooks" - which is arguably just as pretty as the final result.

To achieve the color's firebird status, Tang used neon hair dye by Kenra Professionals, (a brand that sells exclusively to salons and colorists) so you'll have to skip trying this one at home. Which is probably a good thing, considering that it looks pretty complex. Tang's the only one (so far) to create this kind of hair sorcery, but we have a feeling Phoenix hair is about to become pretty popular on Instagram.
