Glossier Launches New Makeup Brand Glossier Play

We’ve said it once, and we’ll say it again: If there’s one thing Glossier knows how to do really well it’s unveiling a new product. This time around though, the cult beauty brand really knocked it out of the park. After keeping us on our toes when they teased the announcement of Glossier Play last week, we couldn’t help but be very invested in trying to resolve the mystery that was all things Glossier Play. People were tweeting it was going to be a “spin-off of no-makeup' and will be about color, glitter, etc.” and while they weren’t wrong, we don’t think any of us were ready for what they had in store. Sure, we already had a taste of the color range Glossier could produce with the eyeshadows they launched at the 2018 Oscar’s, but as with all things Glossier, things can always get better and brighter, literally.

Say hello to Glossier Play’s first batch of dialed-up beauty extras that take on color makeup. Launching with 4 products (just like they did in their 2014), 28 shades, and two tools, the brand describes the collection as an “extension of their mission to democratize beauty and bring a sense of freedom to how you look, act, and feel.” And they did not disappoint.

The new beauty products include, Colorslide (a $15 color-true, gel eyeliner pencil that comes in 24 highly pigmented shades), Vinylic Lip (a $16 high shine lacquer in an easy-to-use click pen format that comes in 6 shades), Niteshine (a $20 buildable pearlescent highlighter with precision doe-foot applicator that comes in 4 shades), and Glitter Gelée (a $14 one-step glitter gel that creates an instant jeweled effect that comes in 4 shades). Whereas the two tools that were specifically made in mind for the seamless application and care of your products. On one side you have The Detailer which is a precise applicator designed to help Glitter Gelée shine more than it already does and on the other you have The Blade that’s a high tech sharpener that will keep you Colorslide eyeliners in tip-top shape since it comes with a thermoplastic cleaning stick that gets rid of any color residue, which makes getting creative and transitioning between shades super easy.

Now, if you can’t really decide which product or shade you want to play around with (pun intended), you don’t have to limit your playfulness because you can shop one of each with your very own Playground for $60.

Consider us willing to play and ready for everything else Glossier Play has in store in the (hopefully) near future.
