Very few brands have developed as much of a cult following as Glossier. The brand, founded by Emily Weiss, grew from the scrappy Into the Gloss publication into a billion-dollar beauty empire spanning across skincare, makeup, and fragrance

Across the brand's decade-long history, they've developed a knack for creating intuitive to use, universally flattering products that you truly can't mess up. Their viral Balm Dotcom, brand-new Full Orbit Eye Cream, and dewy Stretch Concealer are just a handful of the products their devoted followers swear by. However, one of their OG products, Cloud Paint blush, has been a permanent fixture in many beauty lovers' routines for years. Now, the iconic paint is getting a few more shades—this time of the bronzer variety.

As of February 13, Glossier's beloved Cloud Paint ($22) blush line has officially expanded into bronzer, allowing you to add some golden warmth in addition to your classic flush. Ahead are all the details on the brand's latest drop.

The Product

In 2017, Glossier released what would become a staple in every beauty lover's bag: Cloud Paint. Inspired by the paint tubes sold at a Blick Art Supply across from the original Glossier office, the initial shades instantly caught on for a few reasons. First, because the packaging was just as cute as it was innovative. However, mostly because liquid blush like this simply didn't exist when it was released—it wasn't a gel or a watery stain, but not quite a traditional cream either. The texture, in combination with the pigment and the easy-to-use formula, was something new and caused it to catch on quickly.

However, immediately after release, and increasingly in the years following its launch, fans began clamoring for a bronzer version of the iconic formula. Sure, a few of the shades could possibly pass as bronzers for some skin tones, but there wasn't any true bronze shades in the beloved formulas. In fact, at an event for the new laucnh, Weiss admits that a bronzer extension of Cloud Paint wasn't even the brand's idea at all; it was "loud and clear" a request "from the community." Even more so after their previous bronzer, Solar Paint, quietly left their offerings.

So, she said the team got to work creating five new bronzing shades to help everyone always "look like they're in the best light, period." Not to look super tan or bronze, just to always have the golden hour glow on their skin regardless of time and place. A "lit from within glow," as Weiss put it.

Of the five new shades, the darkest, Drift, is described as a deep neutral bronze. Coast is the next in the lineup, offering a classic golden bronze. Then, there's Swept, a medium neutral tan, and Dune, a golden tan. The lightest shade is Sail, offering a light neutral tan—not to be confused with Dusk, a brownish nude blush shade already in the brand's lineup.

The Formula

Like the fan-favorite blushes, the glow provided with this product starts with a handful of skin-loving ingredients, which is a central theme of all the brand's products. Namely, Cloud Paint contains collagen, which can helps retain moisture and give a dewy finish.

The new bronzers have what Glossier is calling a "smooth-gel texture" and "blurring powder pigments" that combine to create a silky, even application and soft, seamless finish that minimizes the appearance of pores.

For the best results with the product, Glossier recommends you squeeze a tiny dot on your finger and then dab it onto your cheekbones and forehead. Once applied, blend it out from the two application spots and bring any excess onto the bridge or your nose to add to the sunkissed glow. Then, continue your makeup as needed and walk out the door with your built-in ring light.
