I tried the new Glossier G Suit lipstick, and I have thoughts

I’ve written about my relationship with makeup before. While I can appreciate a flawless “beat,” I cannot do one myself. Instead, I rely on the same three to four products every day to doll myself up.

I’d consider all four products in my makeup rotation essential. However, lipstick definitely does the heavy lifting. Pretty much any brow gel or mascara will get the job done, but bad lipstick often spells disaster. With that in mind, I almost never pass up the opportunity to try new lipsticks, especially when they’re made by brands I already love.

Given my undying love and commitment to Boy Brow, I enthusiastically accepted an offer to try the brand new Glosser G Suit lipstick. I like Ultralip, but it’s definitely more of a tint that you can build up to bolder color. G Suit, on the other hand, promises to go on at full volume “in one swipe.”

Glossier G Suit Lipstick Review

When I received the Glossier G Suit lipsticks, I was expecting a traditional twist-up design. Instead, the lip crème is packaged more like a gloss with a felt applicator that you use to pick up the product from the tube and apply it on your lips. Once I applied the lipstick, it all made total sense. This lipstick is so soft, smooth and creamy. Despite the fact that it glides on the lips effortlessly, it dries demi-matte and doesn’t leave your lips sticky or tacky at all.

I was initially skeptical that a buttery formula like this could give bold color without several applications, but the G Suit definitely delivers on that promise. Some of the darker colors, like Drive and Tempo, are so amazingly intense that you could even apply it to just one lip, spread it to the other, and you’d still have a gorgeous lip look.

My biggest lipstick pet peeve is drying; I just hate the feeling of dry lips that comes with so many matte lipsticks. Fortunately, Glossier G Suit is a demi-matte, so you get that really intense color without uncomfortable dryness.

Overall, I’d say the Glossier G Suit lipstick is pretty close to perfect and is absolutely worth adding to your summer makeup bag. It’s worth noting, however, that it’s not smudge or transfer-proof, so if you’re looking for a lipstick that stays put all day long, this isn’t it. That’s not a deal breaker for me, so I’ll definitely be carrying it around in my purse and swiping it on the regular.
