Glenn Close Just Twerked At The 2021 Oscars And Twitter Is, Naturally, Freaking Out

Picture this: It’s the 2021 Oscars, and things are getting a little dull at the ceremony. They’re looking for something to spice things up, so the producers throw it to Questlove, who’s acting partially as emcee/DJ for the night, to play a round of Oscars song trivia. He then hands it to Lil Rel Howery, and naturally, he gets Glenn Close to twerk. Wait, what?
Yes. So basically, Lil Rey had Questlove play a portion of a song and Glenn had to figure out whether it was an Oscar winner, Oscar nominee, or not nominated at all. Glenn knew exactly what song it was upon hearing it: “Da Butt,” which was featured in Spike Lee’s School Daze. Then Lil Rel asked Glenn if she knew how to do the dance, and Glenn... shocked the world, because she not only knew the dance, but she did the dance. Here are the best reactions.

This is why we nominate Glenn Close every year, no questions asked. Meryl would not do Da Butt.

Glenn was nominated for an award for Best Supporting Actress this year for her film Hillbilly Elegy. She didn’t win that statue, but it kinda feels like she just won the whole damn ceremony by doing that dance. I mean...give this woman a damn trophy!
