Glen Powell has been getting thirst online for a hot minute now, and his new movie Anyone But You might just cement his heartthrob status.

In the new romantic comedy, Powell plays Ben, whose first date with the beautiful Bea (Sydney Sweeney) crashes and burns, leading to a vicious animosity between the two. But as the film's teaser trailer reveals, when they are both invited to a destination wedding in Australia, they decide it will be easier to get through the celebrations if they just pretend to be a couple after all.

The trailer also takes the time to show both Powell and Sweeney's fit, lean bodies in swimwear at multiple points, playing up the duo's sex appeal and chemistry.

Powell first flexed his rom-com muscles in 2018's Set It Up, but it wasn't until the 2022 blockbuster sequel Top Gun: Maverick that his career went to the next level: originally losing out on his dream part to Miles Teller, he went on to secure his breakout role of Hangman.

Once he got the job, Powell began sculpting his physique. "As soon as I was cast in Top Gun, one thing that was on my mind was the montage," he told Men's Health last year. "The first movie has a volleyball montage. We have a football montage. And I knew the stakes were high."

To prepare for the movie, including that all-important shirtless football scene, Powell threw himself into a rigorous workout program that would carve his six-pack while also delivering the kind of functional fitness required of a fighter pilot. He paired this with a high-protein, 2,800-calorie-per-day diet—because abs are made in the kitchen as much as they are in the gym.

In Maverick, Powell was up against enemy jets in high stakes dog fights. In Anyone But You, it's more of an enemies-to-lovers kind of deal. Either way, it looks like he brought the guns.

Anyone But You is in theaters December 22.
